Mylapore Institute for Indigenous Studies (MIIS) was initiated, by Dr. Roger E. Hedlund, when the vast scope for sustained exploration into indigenous Christianity was identified during The Churches of Indigenous Origin Research Project. MIIS is a pioneer in this field of research, probing recent developments in Indigenous Christianity and publishing significant books and other material on the topic. MIIS is a research institute that engages missiologically with the secular/state university sector, representing the gospel as a positive and empowering force in society.
